SAFe® Scrum Master

Applying the Scrum Master role within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) enterprise with SAFe® 5 Scrum Master Certification Based on version 5.0 of SAFe®

SAFe Scrum Master, Scaled Agile Scrum Master TrainingIn this two-day course, attendees will gain an understanding of the role of a Scrum Master in a SAFe® enterprise. Unlike traditional Scrum Master training that focuses on the fundamentals of team-level Scrum, the SAFe® Scrum Master course explores the role of the Scrum Master in the context of the entire enterprise, and prepares attendees to successfully plan and execute the Program Increment (PI), the primary enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe® organization. This includes learning the key components of Agile at scale development, how Scrum is facilitated throughout the enterprise, and how to execute Iteration Planning.

Attendees will also discover how to build high performing Agile teams by becoming a servant leader and coach, and how to coach those teams to deliver the maximum business value at scale. SAFe® 5 Scrum Master (SSM) certification signifies that people are prepared to perform the role of Scrum Master in a SAFe® environment, increasing their value to teams and organizations that are implementing SAFe®.

    Deirdre Livsey

Hello, Deirdre here; you can call me DL (my initials only). I have been working in software development as a developer and then a manager/project manager for over 30 years with 12 of those in Agile. I started my Agile journey at Intuit around 2009. I lead a development team to start doing iterative and incremental development and doing reviews to get feedback. We then started the transition to Agile. As a member of the Agile Transformation team, I helped development the Intuit Agile transformation plan by interviewing of the Agile company, updating training materials to include Intuit specific information, and supported the transition.

I worked as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager and an Coach it to assist teams as they transitioned. After training the teams and leadership, we introduced big-room planning and engaging the customers in Reviews and Demos. This was when I realized the great benefits of Agile development and the impact that it has on clients to see things are early as possible and share feedback that assist the teams and the company.

I joined ADP in 2013 as part of their Agile Transformation team. Working with leadership, we formalize plans to migrate their business units to Agile and train a few teams at a time and provide coaching for 4 to 6 weeks to help teams and management adjust. Assisted in the creation of several Agile courses: Agile and Scrum (for all of IT), Advanced Scrum Master to assist Scrum Master to achieve that next level of coaching, Advanced Product Owner training to assist in grooming backlog and preparing it for Big Room Planning, and the creation of an Agile Facilitation course for Project managers, Scrum Master, Leaders, and Product Owners to help better facilitate meetings for effective outcomes. Trained over 2000 people at Intuit.

    Certified in SPC, SSM, PMI-ACP, IC-ATF, IC-ACC
